Turbines

AMT-Advanced Micro Turbines originated in the Netherlands in 1991, and we have been manufacturing turbines commercially since middle of 1994. Managed by Bennie and Anita van de Goor, the founders of the company, Bennie being the pilot of the world famous ‘Dutch Pulse-Jet’ team, AMT Netherlands has more than 25 years experience in the development and flight demonstration of high performance jet powered model aircraft. Based in Geldrop, near Eindhoven, the company has been growing steadily in all markets since the start in the middle of 1994. (Beginning of January 1995, AMT Netherlands was founded)

AMT Netherlands Pegasus turbine

Pegasus HP

The Pegasus gas turbine was first produced commercially in the middle of 1994, its legendary reliability and performance have quickly become a benchmark in the industry. Our Olympus HP and Mercury HP turbines are further developments of the Pegasus HP design, and utilise the same proven concepts and engineering principles. The Olympus was released in 1995 for special applications, large models and experienced operators, and offers a 70% thrust increase over the Pegasus with only slightly larger dimensions.

AMT Netherlands Lynx turbine

Lynx engine

A later version, the Olympus HP, was redesigned by Bennie van de Goor from the original AMT Netherlands design Olympus engine with more than 20 % thrust than our original Olympus design. Our Titan engine, is designed for proffesional applications but also universities use this engine for projects. Our latest engines, the Nike and Lynx, are designed for the use in UAV high speed target drone applications, experimental aircraft and universities.

All motors are based on our own AMT Netherlands revolutionary design and unique axial flow turbine, giving exceptional thrust-to-weight ratios, with low fuel consumption and rapid acceleration times. Running on liquid fuel (Jet A1, JP5, JP8, diesel) they need no separate lubrication system – just one of the many innovative concepts that we developed, which are the industry standards. AMT’spresent range of 4 turbines, have thrusts from 230N (51.7lbs) to 1569N (352lbs). The largest engine has been in full production since December 2018.

A new engine in between Nike and Lynx (called Orion) will be available in early 2025 and will produce 600N (135lbs) of thrust.

AMT Netherlands is totally committed to the continual development of the efficiency and safety of the miniature gas turbine motors, and associated equipment, they supply. Quality control is strictly maintained, and every turbine is assembled by skilled engineers and rigorously tested before dispatch to ensure that it meets precise performance and safety parameters. Prospective and existing Customers are welcome to visit AMT’s offices (by appointment) to learn more.
